Speeches by the President of The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, Ole M. Sejersted, and the Vice-President of the World Federation of Science Journalists, Milica Momcilovic.

The Kavli Foundation invites to a reception on the Grand Hotel Penthouse Terrace. 

The reception is an opportunity for the Foundation to bring together all its constituents and their guests to celebrate the Kavli Prize Laureates — past and present. Each invitee can bring one guest.

Kavli Prize Laureate Interviews

Vivienne Parry and Adam Rutherford will interview the Kavli Prize laureates live on stage at the University of Oslo. Both Parry and Rutherford are experienced science journalists, who will help the audience gain a deeper understanding of the laureates and their award-winning research.

Kavli Prize Concert with Ian Hobson

The recognized pianist and conductor Ian Hobson, who has been described as "one of the finest pianists of his generation", will be the performer at the Kavli Prize concert.

The reception at The Norwegian Academy is an informal celebration in honor of the 2018 Kavli Prize laureates. 

Online registration is now open, by invitation only.

Kavli Prize Award Ceremony

Sted: Oslo Concert Hall

His Majesty King Harald V will present the Kavli Prizes to the Laureates at the Award Ceremony. 

Alan Alda and Heidi Ruud Ellingsen co-host a gala event where artists from both the US and Norway entertains. 

The ceremony is televised by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation.

The doors open at 13:00. Refreshments will be served.
Guests are kindly requested to take their seats no later than 13:45.
Please present your invitation or registration on entry to the Oslo Concert Hall.

Dress code: Dark suit.

Norwegian Government's Kavli Prize Banquet

Sted: Oslo City Hall

Minister of Research and Higher Education, Iselin Nybø, is the host for the Banquet in honor of the Kavli Prize laureates. 

His Majesty King Harald V will be present. 

Among the 550 guests you will find many researchers and presidents of scientific institutions from around the world. 

Dress code: Black tie/national costume. 

The dinner is by special invitation only.
Invitations are distributed by e-mail by the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research.

Kavli Prize Laureate Lectures at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim

The Kavli Prize winners in nanoscience and neuroscience will each give a 15-minute presentation of their research.
The Kavli Prize Laureate Lectures are open to everyone.

Kavli Prize Laureate Ewine van Dishoeck will give her Kavli Prize Laureate Lecture at the start of the symposium.

- Sera Markoff, University of Amsterdam

In affiliation with the Kavli Prize Lectures, NTNU Nano host a symposium focusing on nanoscience in a broad perspective.
Invited international scientists will present their research at a colloquial level for students, young researchers and scientific staff.

- Albert van den Berg

The formal dinner at the Archbishop's Palace is an event in honor of the Kavli Prize Laureates hosted by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim Municipality and Trøndelag County Council.

Dress code: Business.
