Scottish Aquaculture - A sustainable future er tittelen på konferansen som gjennomføres i regi av Scottish Aquaculture Reserarch Forum i Edinburgh 21. - 22. april. Skottland har vært et foregangsland når det gjelder å bruke forskning som grunnlag for politiske beslutninger knyttet til oppdrettsnæringen. På denne konferansen vil sentrale aktører innen forskning og forvaltning belyse temaer som bærekraft, regulering, miljø og økonomi.
The Royal Society of Edinburgh og Det Norske Videnskaps-Akademi har vært viktige medspillere i arbeidet med å finne fram til aktuelle foredragsholdere. Professor Jan Raa er av Akademiet oppnevnt som norsk medlem i arrangementskomiteen.

PROGRAMME:
The current list of presentation titles and speakers is provided below and will be updated regularly. Although the list may be subject to change, the content of the conference programme will remain focused on delivering a co-ordinated series of presentations designed to meet the needs of delegates from a broad spectrum of specialist and non-specialist backgrounds. Although drawing principally on Scottish and Norwegian experiences, the themes addressed by the symposium have international resonance. Many of the issues related to improving the sustainability of aquaculture are common to stakeholders elsewhere in Europe and beyond. The symposium will bring together some of the worlds leading autorities in this area to explain current understanding and explore the way forward. A full list of speakers will be included as they are confirmed.
