We are planning to investigate further questions raised in the three ALLEA discussion papers on the relationship between truth, trust and expertise in the field of science and research. Particularly Paper # 3, Trust in Science and Changing Landscapes of Communication, is of great interest in conjunction with our budding efforts to become an attentive science advice for policy actor.
Major technological, political and social transformations will certainly affect science communication, but which are the processes and mechanisms we really need to understand better? How can academies, concerned organizations and citizens support intelligent placement of trust in the face of communicative fragmentation and powerful economic interests?
Shorter interventions and comments from a researcher, a politician and a human rights legal expert would follow after your lecture. There will also be a panel discussion involving the speakers and others before the floor is invited to make interventions.
